The second term has started again and the holiday season is officially over. With it, this term brought the added pressure of writing the MA dissertation.
I wanted to write this post to give a few tips for all of you out there also facing this quest.
1) Think of a dissertation topic ASAP ⏳
This will enable you to find the essential literature surrounding your topic, as well as give you enough time to start thinking what it is that you really want to write about.
2) Think about data collection 📝
This is extremely important; as you will have to set a timeframe to gather your data, and some problems might arise (e.g. You want to collect classroom data, so you need to go to the school during the term. That specific school might not accept you, and you might have to choose another one).
3) Find something you are passionate about writing 😍
If you pick a topic just for the sake of it, you probably will not put your best work forward. When you chose something that excites you, you will be motivated to do the best you can, and therefore will have a great end result.
4) Have fun with it! 🙌
Don’t be afraid of the dissertation 🙀. This could be a great chance for you to go in depth on a topic close to your heart. You are free to choose almost anything your heart desires, so go for it and enjoy yourself in the process!
See you all next time! 👋
